We encourage students to include a computational component in their concentration. However, 1.00 and 6.00 may NOT be counted. The guidelines for the concentration explicitly state that: “Basic math and science subjects may be included only if they are prerequisite to a higher level engineering subject in the concentration; otherwise, such subjects should be taken as unrestricted electives” and “Freshman-level subjects, such as 2.00A or 2.00B, may not be included.” Hence, if you would like to take 1.00 and 6.00 you should consider them unrestricted electives.

For your concentration, if you are interested in numerical methods, we encourage you to take 2.086. If you are in a robotics track and need programming experience rather than numerical methods, we recommend 6.01.
