Substitutions – extra units in your concentration or as extra engineering? March 14, 2016

We’ve had a few outside-the-box substitutions come through, and wanted to give you a heads up on how you can count those extra 6 units, when you substitute a 12 unit subject for a 6 unit requirement.

The rules governing case-by-case substitutions follow the same rules as the pre-approved substitutions.

  • An introductory level 12 unit subject that substitutes for a 6 unit requirement = 6 unit requirement + 6 units of extra engineering (but not in your concentration, unless it is also your REST subject).
  • An upper level 12 unit subject that substitutes for a 6 unit requirement = 6 unit requirement + 6 units in your concentration or as extra engineering (your choice).

If you have a substitution approved, then your 2-A form will be automatically updated to reduce the units in your concentration or extra engineering.
